Perelman Jewish Day School

The Sidney Kimmel Foundation’s gift of $25 million to Perelman Jewish Day School is a cornerstone of Jewish continuity in Philadelphia and a model for the rest of the country. The gift secured vibrancy at this school, essential to the well-being of the Philadelphia Jewish community.

Each year, roughly one third of Perelman’s 350 students, who attend kindergarten through fifth grade on one of the school’s two suburban campuses, receive financial aid supported by the Foundation’s contributions.

“Sidney Kimmel’s philanthropy has transformed the face of the student population, adding geographic and socioeconomic diversity that was simply not possible before,” said Judy Groner, Head of School. “Having a diverse range of students learning and growing here and having their families connected to our school is an incredible gift, not just to us and those families, but to the entire Jewish community.”

Generations to come will also benefit from Kimmel’s generosity, as his gifts help secure Perelman’s financial future, sustaining and enhancing its ability to provide a values-based education side by side with a rigorous curriculum all in a nurturing environment.
